DAZN has secured Bundesliga rights from 2021/22 to 2024/25 for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The OTT broadcaster will exclusively stream 106 matches live from the Bundesliga on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons, on its web and mobile platforms. This marks a significant increase in the number of live and on-demand Bundesliga matches for DAZN in the DACH region, compared to the previous deal it had with Discovery for Germany’s top tier football league.
DAZN has extended its broadcast deal with the German Football League (DFL) for the non-exclusive rights to the Bundesliga in the German and Swiss markets. The OTT streaming service had initially secured the rights to a single game on May 18, 2020, following a one-match deal, but decided to continue with the agreement for the remainder of the 2020/21 season. Until Matchday 34, DAZN will stream nine live Bundesliga matches, as well as four relegation games. These come in addition to the usual match highlights, which are provided for both the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.
