Sky Italia has retained its multi-platform Premier League rights in Italy and will broadcast at least 6 live EPL matches in HD every weekend. The pay-TV broadcaster is expected to air over 235 matches every season on TV, with live streams available on its digital platform Sky Go for smartphones, tablets and computers.
Sky has acquired exclusive rights to the UEFA Europa League in Italy until 2021. The pay-TV broadcaster will offer comprehensive coverage of Europe’s secondary club soccer competition through live matches on its premium TV channels. Full match replays and highlights will also be aired every season. Live and on-demand Europa League games will be made accessible on the network’s streaming service, Sky Go. Subscribers will additionally have access to all the action on the Sky Go app for Android and iOS.
Sky Italia has renewed its Serie A TV rights deal in Italy until the end of the 2020/21 season. Sky’s broadcast rights acquisition includes Package 5, which grants them access to 114 matches or three games every weekend for 38 rounds – including Sunday evening encounters. Sky also went for Package 6, which includes a total of 152 matches, including Monday evening games. In all, Sky has secured 226 games for its platform every season.
