This deal encompasses not just the live airing of football matches, but also a variety of additional programming, including match highlights and dedicated shows that offer analysis and insights into the league and its teams.
ESPN has secured South American media rights to the English Premier League for the 2022-2025 period. The Disney-owned broadcaster’s major deal covers all 380 matches every season and includes free-to-air, pay-tv, and streaming mediums. Live coverage is to be carried out on the Star+ platform. ESPN’s Premier League content extends to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
ESPN Brasil has secured the broadcast rights for the UEFA Europa League, enabling the network to showcase live matches and highlights on both television and streaming platforms. ESPN has acquired multi-platform broadcast rights to all 380 Premier League games in Brazil, until the end of the 2021/22 season. Following a sub-licensing agreement with DAZN, ESPN will air 8 live matches each week on its core linear TV channels, as well as its streaming service WatchESPN. Highlights of all EPL games will also be available, and subscribers will be able to watch the games on demand.
