ESPN has secured South American media rights to the English Premier League for the 2022-2025 period. The Disney-owned broadcaster’s major deal covers all 380 matches every season and includes free-to-air, pay-tv, and streaming mediums. Live coverage is to be carried out on the Star+ platform. ESPN’s Premier League content extends to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Fox Sports’ broadcast deal for the Copa Libertadores in Brazil is expected to run until 2022 and will see the network air live matches from the group stage and quarterfinals.
Disney has acquired exclusive broadcast rights for the 2021 Copa América tournament in Brazil. Fox Sports Brasil will collaborate in covering the competition with ESPN Brasil, with both channels combining to show all 28 matches.
Following a deal between Fox International Channels and the DFL, Fox Sports will air the German Bundesliga live in Brazil. The Portuguese-language broadcaster will broadcast the games live on its pay-TV channels, as well as on Fox Sports Latin America's premium OTT service for computers, tablets and mobile devices.
Fox Sports Brasil has acquired the multi-platform broadcasting rights in Brazil through a sub-licensing deal with ESPN Brasil. The three-year deal runs until the end of the 2018-19 season and is available on the Fox Premium network.
