FOX has secured MLS broadcast rights as the league’s exclusive linear TV partner in USA. FOX Sports’ deal covers English- and Spanish-language telecasts from 2023 to 2026. For the 2023 MLS season, the network is set to show 15 matches on TV with English-language commentary, whereas a total of 34 matches have been slated on FOX Deportes. The deal is reported to be worth $7 million per season. This signifies a major change in live MLS coverage, with the exclusion of long-time TV partner ESPN, and the advent of Apple’s MLS Season Pass as the exclusive MLS streaming source through 2032.
FOX will show one match from the 2020 MLS Is Back Tournament, while FS1 will show 15 matches in total, including 4 matches from the Round of 16, two from the Quarterfinal, and one from the Semifinal. Viewers will have the option to follow FOX’s English-language coverage of the tournament with enhanced audio. All MLS Is Back Tournament matches on FOX in USA will be streamed live on FOXSports.com and FOX Sports apps for iOS, Android and smart TVs with casting support.
FOX has acquired multi-platform rights to the Bundesliga in USA. The network earned the rights to the league following a massive 5-year global media rights deal it signed in 2015. FOX will telecast Bundesliga matches every week in both English and Spanish languages on its family of U.S. channels, including Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2 and Fox Soccer Plus. Comprehensive Bundesliga streaming will be available online and on a wide variety of devices via cross-platform service Fox Soccer Match Pass. Fox Sports’ website and official apps mirroring linear Fox Sports TV channels will make the games available to subscribers in USA as well.
Fox Sports has obtained exclusive rights for Champions League broadcasts in the USA. Coverage of the competition will be available across the various channels in the Fox Sports Network including FS1, FS2, Fox Soccer Plus as well as on the Spanish channel Fox Deportes. The matches will be available online through Fox Sports Go to authenticated users or via Fox Soccer Match Pass the OTT standalone digital subscription service. In total Fox Sports will air apx 140 Live Champions League matches.
Home matches of Cruz Azul, Jaguares, Monarcas Morelia, Puebla, and Necaxa will be shared by Azteca America. Fox Deportes and ESPN Deportes will simulcast one weekly match. Home matches of Leon will be available exclusively on Fox Deportes.
